Mosey was started in 2022 and aims to support food led businesses and connect them with customers. We focus on information and connection which, in turn, leads to accessibility.

We’re extremely lucky to have a wide variety of cultures and cuisines around us now, but the tech available never made those cultures, cuisines and meals quickly accessible, or matched the market (and our) demand.

A Michelin list is great, but what about when you want a hearty meal for dinner somewhere rural? What about when you want a food truck at the beach? Or a café for brunch? It wasn’t about wanting to find every cuisine, but even to find the multitude of atmospheres and settings for the different occasions or meals we wanted. Finding food was tedious, outdated and time-consuming, and we believe it can be better. That’s it. That’s what we aim to do.

While refining the app and its features, we benefited from having a brilliant network of friends and family and food business owners. We could reach out to great food business owners like Karl in Kanum Thai, Turlach who owns two cafes (Five Good Things and Plate & Palette) and guys like Lucas and Rafa who own Rustic Pizza and Taboo Burger, respectively. Once we knew we had sector interest, and excitement for Mosey, we kept building to get launched as soon as possible.

When we asked ourselves about pricing, we always came to the same conclusion that we can make money and so can businesses. We were, and are, aware of the hours food business owners do, in a turbulent sector where a bad staffing day means not opening, operational costs have gone up and a higher VAT rate reduces margins. So we asked ourselves a simple question: how do we ensure we aren’t part of the problem facing them? How do we make sure Mosey is not part of that equation? If the aim is for a baker who sells at a Sunday market once a month to have a profile, or for someone who has saved for months or got a loan to open a restaurant to have a profile, what price do we need to be at to help them set-up?

And from that we made our Show Profile free.

FAQs

  • Mosey obtains proof of ownership and ID verification for every business which signs up for a business account before they go live. This ensures a safe and trustworthy platform where you can choose your business with peace of mind.

  • When you are creating a Mosey List, you’ll have the option to make the list public. This features it in the Mosey Lists section to be followed by other users.

  • Mosey Lists and specific searching. We want to search by details to save as much time as possible.

  • In the case of bars and clubs, Mosey only shows venues that serve at least five food menu items, and they must be at least €10 per menu item.

  • Your calendar is for bookings and you can use this to add events for businesses that don’t take bookings too. Plan a cafe visit or lunch to a food truck.
